Today my dog got invited to the trendiest day party in #downtownla today – mister hip-stamatic himself #TeddyLawson of SDRR (Sex Drugs and Rock & Roll) or I like to call it (Sex Drugs and *Rocky Roll) okay I’m bias but Rocky my doggie did bust the move and made his way into Teddy’s Downtown LA urban photo shoot just weeks before, pulling off a keen photo with mister fabulous himself. My thoughts on the line… If you’re a dude, SDRR are must have items to have in the closet, at least get a hat, or a nick nack you can wait to get it for double the price at Macy’s or you can walk your dog right into the Downtown Store Location – #Round2LA located at 600 Spring Street or go to the site www.SDRR-CLOTHING.com

Do you ever have a mad urge for some specific genre of clothes and sometimes just buying one little outfit or item is a far cry from relieving the fix. Well hell, I don’t know if I got possessed by a dead sailor’s wife, but for the last 30 days I have been ga-ga for nautical clothes. Yes, we love http://www.Mod.Cloth.com but no we don’t like paying $89 for nautical red, white and blue, wedges that realistically go with two outfits and every thing else you try wearing it with makes you look like a Cougar Raggedy Ann Doll. So this is what I did. I purchased the navy blue nautical jumper to celebrate losing 12 pounds, and the killer blue and white polka dotted Nautical bathing suit, snagged a black and white Rockabilly nauticalesque dress off ebay from China for a thrifty $15 (shipping included) then actually tried to buy the damn wedge shoes – but they didn’t have my tranie-sized 10/11 feet narrow. So, thank god for “zoom in” options on photos – I zoomed in close to the $89 dollar amazingly useless shoes and saw they were made by “Penny Loves Kenny.” Then pasted that in the web browser, then bleep! Amazon had them for a third of the price. I wouldn’t have bothered writing about this because I am a big http://www.modcloth.com advocate but they were cagey to my Glaminlalaland Glam Wrangler – when approached to sponsor Glaminlalaland event soooooo…. Fuck it.
So at this Glaminlalaland red carpet + gifting lounge + comedy event. We had over 15 beauty + fashion sponsors as well as Singular Magazine and Singular City. Another sold out show.
This is a press video at our first glaminlalaland at The Hollywood Improv February 2013. It was a gift lounge + red carpet + comedy event. The events are always sold out so if you want to get on the VIP guest list you must RSVP early – please email email@example.com
Listen, I am all about throw backs to earlier fashion eras, I mean it’s all about recycling, re-investing, re-establishing, but just because a trend was popular way back when, doesn’t mean it was right. Sometimes trends just luck out. I mean look at Vanilla Ice or better yet Milli-Vanilli (I always mix those two up, 80’s pop diarrhea) it seemed like a great idea to have two hot boys lip sync to catchy pop songs – except OOPS, what happens when they have to sing live. Well there you go, Milli Vanilli- was not thoroughly thought through. I feel the same about the jelly shoes. They’re truly horrible. They belong on girls ages 2 to10 no assembly required. That’s it. That’s all I will give it. And please store owners, on the jelly accessory front – I know there are probably warehouses full of these un-bio-degradable fluorescent Madonna rubber bracelets, but maybe they too should just stay in the warehouse back in The Philippines for another 40 years, then MAYBE they will cool again, we’re not ready yet….
Skin Product Pick of The Month Beauty Nectar By Ashieda
So I went ahead and did The 10 day Beauty Nectar Challenge – I say this like this it is a known challenge that everyone is doing – like the good ol’ fashion Pepsi Challenge (I picked Coke for the record) what I meant was – I created “The Ten Day Beauty Nectar Challenge” for myself – mainly because 10 shots of Beauty Nectar come in the box – so seeing as I have ZERO patience – if I wasn’t going to see results in 10 days then this would not be the product for me. So after 10 days – or should I say during the ten days of drinking basically little fashionable glass bottle shots of what tastes like apple juice and natural stuff – (I know I’m such a techie) my skin went from slightly dry – to radiantly, and ravishly moist skin. Seriously. Now I’m someone who literally sleeps with my make up on – for the most part – and occasionally lathers my face up with a little olive oil (what can I say I am a guinea) so very little things impress me in the way of beauty products but this one was remarkably different. First of all, you drink it. Second of all, it tastes good. Two things are the winning combination for someone with very little patience, like moi. So I seeked out the brains and beauty behind it all of Ashieda products and asked the winning question to the down-to-earth-chick-mother-all-round-great-gal…
CAMILLE: So why do you see Beauty Nectar by Ashieda being the best product for your skin?
SARAH: Beauty Nectar works from the inside out. Unlike lotions that can be washed off with water these benefits cannot be washed away. Japanese women have known about the secret anti-aging benefits of ingesting collagen for years. They even have restaurants in Japan that add additional collagen to their meals. Beauty Nectar truly is Beauty You Can Drink.
CAMILLE: What’s up with America then?
I think before not too long American women will consume collagen as a part of their daily skin care routine.

My web-magazine pick of the month goes to “Singular Magazine.” Now what does Singular mean exactly – you might think of the words to that catchy show tune “..Singular sensation, every little step you take…” but I’m talking about the on-line-magazine and website http://www.singularcity.com that has swept the singles scene in LA by storm – with fabulous editor and brains and beauty behind it all – Kim Calvert. It covers dining, night life, singles events, wine tasting, to even finding a killer divorce attorney to much more. Boom! What else do you need if you’re single. Oh by the way, it puts the sassy back in single with over 50,000 subscribers to this LA based online magazine. Singular City & Singular Magazine is fun and fabbu (yes I said fabbu with two “b”s relax – people have been ruining the english language since text messaging has been created so it’s not my fault). I mean lets face it, there is NO POINT in being in a relationship if you spend 50% of the time “fixing it” or “working on it” in my humble opinion there should be very little work – it should work and if it doesn’t then get out of dodge if… you don’t have kids, well then – yes – do spend some time in taking some responsibility for how you’ve been; come clean on all your bad deeds to your partner and if that doesn’t work, and both parties both need to come clean no matter how “clean” they profess to be – and if then it still is a daily battle over trivial bull shit – THEN get out of dodge. Being single has never been more fabulous and Kim Calvert’s magazine and world has proven this. There is always funs stuff to do, either quietly at home or out on the town – at any age – 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s. I would say 90’s but I don’t know anyone that old so I can’t speak for them – but I do know people in the other categories. So get off your butt and go to the website and dig in and get a life you fabulous single…. Love, Camille
As East Coast as I am, being from bean town Boston, where people preach about clam chowdah and lobstah rolls and chompin’ down some Fenway Franks and going to Riley’s Roast Beef after a night of gettin’ wicked pissah drunk, I have to admit living in LA for now over a decade, I cannot do without my local organic market, I know I’m gettin’ soft. Luckily, tucked away cutely on the 9th Street side of The Eastern Columbia Building, in downtown LA is my favorite pit stop (or two) of the day– the newly opened Om Nom Organics. Being a resident of The Art Deco building – The Eastern Columbia – it allows me to (literally) roll out of bed – with smeared make up, sweats and questionable foot wear, with my little doggie Boston Terror (I mean terrier) – and get my morning cup of freshly made organic brew and a bottle of the latest variety of Kombucha. The market is full of many snick snacks, fresh made sandwiches and salads even some household items and a serious supply of liquorish which I currently am addicted to- and I think there is even a rumour going around that they will be doing a downtown delivery service, for the ultimate in lazy (hey if you got it, flaunt it). The decor of the store is lovely – it has the feel of Dean & Deluca’s New York (which I worked in the bakery when I was 17 and gained 10 pounds by eating cake everyday) but the downtown laid back friendly attitude of the staff is especially delightful – (I literally almost got into a fist fight with a yoga instructor in the Whole Foods Parking lot in Santa Monica over whether “free range” meant “ organic ” OMG hello crazy) Anyway, leaving you on positive note – I rate this store a 5 out of 5 stars and another great addition to the burgeoning downtown Los Angeles scene.
